DJ Skinny was born on the Island of Jamaica; where his Uncle Tony introduced him to the music scene at an early age. At the age of 13 he moved to the United States and currently resides in the Bronx, N.Y. DJ Skinny has always had a passion for music and loves all types of genres. He graduated from Alfred University with a B.S. in Marketing and a MBA in Masters in Business Administration.
Freshman year of college, DJ Skinny was introduced to Krystal Lord, President of the Caribbean Student Association (CSA); who encouraged him to start a radio show for CSA. Initially, Skinny hesitated to do the show. He had a passion for music but didn’t think he had the personality for radio. With the support from Krystal and his co-host; he decided to start a radio show. Every Friday night DJ Skinny was on the air enhancing his skills and discovering his radio personality. DJ Skinny became the most popular radio host on campus and was the preferred DJ for all on-campus events. Through all the encouragement and support from Krystal Lord DJ Skinny became well known for his DJing skills on WALF89.7FM.
Every weekend you can hear DJ Skinny on air or find him DJ-ing on and off campus entertaining the community of Alfred. During his junior year of college, he became the General Manager of his college radio station WALF 89.7FM. After becoming General Manager he decided to pursue a career as a radio DJ. Today, he is building his name to become one of the top radio DJs with his music team, Trauma Family. You can catch him every Tuesday at 7pm (Feel Good Tuesday’s on Trauma Radio WWW.WALF.FM playing the best in Reggae, Rap, Hip-Hop, R&B and much more.
